Survey Technician

MEB is seeking a Survey Technician to support surveying operations on active construction projects. This role assists senior survey staff with field layout, data collection, and as-built documentation to ensure construction activities align with design drawings and specifications. The Survey Technician must be dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, field-based environment. This position supports multiple projects and works closely with surveyors, project managers, superintendents, and field personnel. A strong commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork is required. Core Areas of Responsibility Assist with setup, operation, and maintenance of surveying equipment including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors. Support job layout, stakeout, control points, and as-built surveys under the direction of senior survey staff. Perform vertical and horizontal measurements including elevations, offsets, and alignment. Assist with monitoring existing and new structures for movement or deviations from design. Collect as-built data and assist with preparation of drawings and reports for record documentation. Maintain accurate field notes and electronic survey records. Adhere to all safety protocols and proactively identify potential hazards related to surveying activities. Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to support surveying operations. Maintain inventory and readiness of surveying tools and materials. Qualifications Ability to read construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications. Basic knowledge of construction site operations and safety requirements. Familiarity with surveying equipment such as total stations and GPS systems. Experience with surveying or CAD software. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift surveying equipment. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
