Medical Documentation Specialist - In office/Hybrid position

Diabetes Documentation Specialist position at Edwards Health Care Services (a GEMCORE company). Position Overview This hybrid remote role based in Livonia, MI involves collecting medical documentation to qualify customers for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance. The role requires outbound calls to physician offices, data entry, and compliance with industry standards. It is a full‑time, non‑exempt position with normal business hours and paid vacation. Develop and maintain positive relationships with medical offices. Communicate with customers regarding documentation issues and missing information. Enter updated customer account information for claim processing. Maintain knowledge of healthcare products, Medicare requirements, and insurance coverage to determine eligibility. Make outbound calls to physician offices to obtain all required documentation. Fax forms or documents for completion by prescribing doctors. Key Requirements Self‑starter with ability to work independently. Clinical background helpful but not required. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong telephone skills. Word processing speed at least 30 WPM. Good cognitive reasoning ability. Detailed and thorough work orientation.
