Engineer II, Mechanical - Sensors

Masimo, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for patient monitoring sensors. The role involves product development from concept through production, applying engineering principles to create reliable, manufacturable solutions in an on-site R&D position in Irvine, California.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and packaging for disposable and reusable patient monitoring sensors
• Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials for product development
• Apply design for manufacturability, tolerance analysis, and optimization methods for performance and cost efficiency
• Develop and execute mechanical test plans and protocols for design verification, validation, and reliability testing
• Build prototypes and evaluate design concepts through iterative testing and analysis

Requirements

• 2+ years mechanical engineering, product development, or related experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings; SolidWorks preferred
• Working knowledge of mechanical design principles, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability
• Experience designing plastic, metal, elastomeric, or other mechanical components and assemblies
• Medical device design experience preferred, including FDA and ISO 13485 standards knowledge

Compensation: $90,000 - $115,000 base, plus 10% target bonus
