Role As an Engagement Manager, your core responsibilities include: Managing the execution of individual project workstreams, including hypothesis development, data collection, model creation and analysis. Guiding the team through primary and secondary research, overcoming information limitations and surfacing insights. Synthesizing findings into written presentations and reviewing them with clients and stakeholders. Supporting partner groups with high‑quality execution. Managing a team of 2‑4 consultants to ensure efficient deliverables. When progressing to Principal: managing multiple workstreams with 6‑8 consultants and directly engaging mid‑senior level clients (e.g., VP of operations). When proceeding to Principal: developing proposals and leading business‑development activities. Desired Skills And Experience Operational Operations experience in discrete or continuous manufacturing industries. Experience across product development, planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution; depth in any of these is preferred. Experience leading or participating in improvement efforts within operations. General Strong curiosity and continuous learning mindset. Strong problem structuring and analytical skills. Critical thinking and attention to detail. Ability to work independently under ambiguity and lead others to navigate uncertainty. Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills. Desired Capabilities Experience with tools/systems for supply chain optimization and IT enablement. Certifications: Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP), American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS/ISCM), or Institute for Supply Management (ISM). Experience with proposal development, commercial instincts, and interest. Work History Experience with a top‑tier management consulting firm preferred. 4–7+ years of consulting experience in operations (industry or consulting firm); for Principal: 6–8+ years. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $225,000 to $240,000. Salary is determined by experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. In addition to base salary, you may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
