Patient Support Specialist

A client of ours is seeking a qualified Patient Support Specialist for their optometry office located in South Point, Ohio. They are a small, close-knit eye care office looking for someone who brings kindness, patience, and genuine warmth to every interaction. They are looking for someone who treats every patient like family, enjoys helping others, and are eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities
Patient & Customer Service

• Greet every patient with warmth and professionalism
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist with scheduling appointments
• Check patients in for their appointments and check them out at the end of their visit
• Retrieve and verify vision insurance benefits through insurance website

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients

Optical Support

• Assist with eyewear dispensing

Teamwork & Cross-Training

• Support all areas of the office as needed to keep operations running smoothly
• Learn new tasks and responsibilities over time as part of a collaborative, flexible team

This is a permanent, direct-hire position, hiring immediately. The hours are approximately 31 to 32 hours per week. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. (office is closed on Wednesday). Starting pay is $14 per hour. Benefits include PTO and paid holidays.

Qualifications:

• Comfort with learning new computer programs and software, accessing internet-based systems and databases
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to learn and be cross-trained
• Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
• No prior optical experience required - training will be provided
