POSITION SUMMARY

The Loan Coordinator will support Mortgage Loan Officers in all aspects of the mortgage loan origination process. Courtesy, customer service, and tact are essential elements of this position. The Loan Coordinator works as a team member, managing a pipeline of loans while communicating with clients, Loan Officers, and other members of the Operations team from loan approval to closing. Work involves a great degree of personal contact with others, both in and out of the Company, for purposes of obtaining information, obtaining documentation, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. The Loan Coordinator must have excellent 'people skills' and be driven with the desire to make sure every client has a positive experience with ALCOVA Mortgage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reviews loan applications to determine the completeness of all documents and verifies borrowers’ qualifications for specified loan products.

2. Call the borrower to go over the application, terms, questions etc. 

3. Send update to borrower, LO, & agent. Update should include a pre-approval letter or detail as to why we could not get them pre-approved and a path forward

4. Update the ‘Loan Setup Worksheet’ with notes, pre-approval date, and/ or does not qualify date

5. Assists with coordination of all appropriate documentation and follows up with clients on an ongoing basis

6. Advises Loan Officers, agent, and borrower of any deficiencies or missing documentation

7. Responds to customer inquiries and referrals that are generated from both their own contacts and from the Loan Officers’ business

8. Maintains a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

 

 

9. Demonstrates commitment to professional ethics by complying with all federal and state compliance policies and requirements

10. Coordinates sending of disclosures, ordering appraisals, and running of credit

11. Packages and submits complete files to Operations through the Company’s loan origination software program

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE, AND COMPETENCIES

1. Strong pipeline skills, with an ability to prioritize complex diversified responsibilities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

2. Knowledge of federal and state fair lending requirements

3. Ability to work collaboratively with others

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

5. Strong customer service skills

6. Ability to use deductive reasoning

7. Working knowledge of Encompass and RESPA software

8. Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Internet applications

1. Self-starting, self-reliant, highly motivated and dependable

2. Technologically savvy and comfortable learning new computer systems and programs

3. Ability to adapt to changing environments, situations, and job responsibilities

4. Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, if needed

6. Compliance with all Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) requirements is required. Employee must complete annual training in these areas
