Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for utilizing various heavy equipment, including articulated dump trucks and excavators, to transport waste and sludge from a papermill and deposit it in a landfill. This role involves loading trucks with excavators and operating articulated dump trucks completely off-site, and does not require a CDL.

• Transport waste and sludge from the papermill to the landfill using heavy equipment.
• Load trucks using excavators.
• Operate articulated dump trucks off-road.
• Ensure efficient and safe operation of haul and water trucks.

• Proven experience in operating heavy equipment.
• Proficiency with articulated dump trucks.
• Experience with haul and water trucks.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter.

This position offers the chance to work with a reputable national company, with potential for conversion to a permanent employee based on performance, attitude, and attendance during the contract period.

The work is conducted at Cascades Paper Mill, involving discarding sludge and waste and loading trucks. The position is for the day shift, from 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, with potential weekend work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland, VA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
