Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (1900 - 0730). Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need. 20 hours of orientation provided.

• State-of-the-art facility with collaborative interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy
• Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on weekends; floating required to other units as needed
• Free onsite parking available

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license required
• Minimum two years of acute care medical surgical experience within the last three years required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start with strict passing criteria (100% identification of lethal rhythms, 80% overall passing score)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Clinical Skills:

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management
• IV insertion and maintenance, IV insulin protocols, heparin drips, PCA management
• Care for bariatric surgery, total joint replacement, pre/post neurosurgery, and orthopedic trauma patients
• Wound care/wound VAC management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management
• Oxygen administration, isolation precautions, phlebotomy

Patient Population:

• Adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including COPD, heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, infections, mental status changes, and fall injuries
• Post-operative patients following bariatric, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and general surgical procedures
• Daily census of 24 patients across 27 beds
