Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Surgery

Full-time position in Bishop, California. Provide comprehensive orthopedic care, focusing on total joint, knee, sports and acute injuries in a dynamic, non-geriatric environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive orthopedic care in collaboration with surgeons and the healthcare team.

Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for orthopedic conditions and injuries.

Assist with management of patients undergoing total joint and knee procedures.

Evaluate and treat sports-related injuries, including skiing and snowboarding.

Participate in assessment and treatment of acute orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.

Assist surgeons with surgical procedures and perioperative patient care.

Perform patient histories, physical examinations, and orthopedic assessments.

Order and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory testing within scope of practice.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings.

Provide preoperative and postoperative education, monitor recovery, and adjust plans as needed.

Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Current California Physician Assistant license.

Current DEA license.

BLS certification.

NCCPA certification (preferred or required).

Three or more years of orthopedic experience (preferred).

Demonstrated clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork.

Preferred Skills:

Three years of orthopedic experience (highly preferred).

Experience in orthopedic surgery (strongly preferred).

Background in total joint, knee, sports medicine, or musculoskeletal care (highly desirable).

Experience treating skiing, snowboarding, and other sports-related injuries (strong advantage).

Comfortable working with active, non-geriatric patient population (encouraged).
