Maintenance Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

Hog Slat, Incorporated, is seeking a full-time individual to join our feed mill team in Camden, IN, to fill the role of Maintenance Lead. This position will consist of multiple duties. Feed mill knowledge is suggested, but it is not required. This is a hands-on working position with some office and computer time required for maintenance records, parts tracking, scheduling, and other duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

• Hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of semi-trucks, feed-hauling trailers, and mill equipment
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, augers, and unloading equipment on feed trailers
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to keep equipment safe and in working order
• Repair and replace defective mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, parts inventory, and repair costs using office and computer systems
• Organize and maintain truck, trailer, mill, and maintenance parts
• Keep parts, tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
• Help minimize equipment downtime through timely repairs and maintenance

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

The IDEAL CANDIDATE will have the following experience/educational background:

• Experience in industrial, agricultural, or heavy equipment maintenance
• Knowledge of semi-truck, trailer, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic auger trailer systems
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to organize and maintain parts, tools, and equipment
• Ability to work safely and independently around heavy equipment and moving machinery

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, semi-trucks, and hydraulic systems. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and may work around dust and feed mill environments. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. The position requires both hands-on work in the maintenance and mill areas and some office/computer work.
