Senior Property Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join a growing, Charlotte-based real estate organization. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the accounting and reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties while working alongside an experienced and collaborative accounting team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience, a strong understanding of property management accounting, and a passion for delivering accurate financial reporting in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Record and reconcile all property-related transactions in Yardi, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Review tenant leases and ensure accurate billing of rent, CAM, and other charges. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly. Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations. Support the month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Partner with property managers, asset managers, and external auditors as needed. Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 3+ years of property accounting experience required. Strong knowledge of GAAP and property-level financial reporting. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Skills Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations.
