Rowan-Salisbury Schools, North Rowan Elementary School – Spencer, North Carolina Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026 Job Title EC Teacher Assistant Job Description Purpose : To assist and support the teacher in planning, organizing, and preparing instructional materials and provide support for clerical, technical, and general classroom functions. Qualifications 48 semester hours including core courses with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited institution; or Associate Degree or higher with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited institution; or WorkKeys testing: Math (minimum score 4), Reading (minimum score 4), Writing (minimum score 3). Physical ability to lift 15+ pounds. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assist and support the teacher with planning, organizing, and evaluating instruction, including implementing instruction programs and collecting data on EIP goals and behavior plans. Assist the teacher in ensuring a safe and healthful environment. Assist students in understanding school and classroom rules and regulations. Assist students in maintaining cleanliness and neatness. Interacts effectively with students, teachers, administrators, coworkers, parents, and community. Model positive behavior as a role model.
