Job Title Assistant/Associate Professor, Literacy (Tenured/TenureTrack) Essential Job Functions Conducts a requisite number of classes; Teaches assignedsubjects Provides guidance and supervision to students Creates and maintains an environment conducive to excellence inteaching, learning and research Preparation and formulation of curricula focused on his/hersubject(s) Participates in departmental meetings and holds scheduledoffice hours Maintains equipment in the laboratory, makes arrangements forlaboratory practical sessions, and provides materials tostudents Provides academic support to other faculty members Serves on departmental and University committees, asassigned Other related duties, as assigned Qualifications Minimum Education Doctor of Philosophy in ElementaryEducation, Literacy, Curriculum & Instruction or relatedfield Minimum Experience Five (5) years’ teaching experience atthe college or university level Experience in literacy methods and special educationpreferred Experience advising students at the university level Licenses/Certifications LETRS or equivalent training Knowledge Skills and Abilities In-depth knowledge of Literacy Education Standards Vast knowledge of CAEP standards Demonstrated integrity Excellent communication skills, verbal, written andinterpersonal Strong time management skills Passion for teaching and engaging with students Skilled in mentoring students Ability to work well with colleagues and foster a collegialenvironment conducive to teamwork and students’ high level oflearning #J-18808-Ljbffr The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc.
