The Executive Director will work alongside the LHMC executive leadership team to improve clinical quality and promote the growth of his/her division.Reporting to a member of the Senior Leadership team, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall operational, clinical and financial performance of the Division of Imaging Services (all sites included if applicable). The Executive Director works in collaboration with Vice Presidents, physician leadership, business managers, and finance and nursing leadership to establish yearly performance goals for each division which are aligned with the vision and mission of Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. The Executive Director has responsibility for, but not limited to, divisional and departmental planning ( creating a strategic growth plan), business development, management/supervision of all management staff, and development of a capital and operating budget, including: product-line development, budget calculations, report analysis and expense monitoring. The Executive Director demonstrates an understanding of financial systems in order to develop a financial reporting structure that effectively monitors strategic goals, including optimizing affordability of services. The Executive Director will ensure that her/his divisions meet operating guidelines as established by annual goals, including, but not limited to: patient access, revenue cycle, patient satisfaction, and quality goals. The Executive Director may assume project/program responsibilities outside her/his divisions that help establish Lahey Hospital and Medical Center as an organization of excellence.The Executive Director must establish effective strategies for program and product development, physician integration and resource utilization with the goal of increasing division growth, efficiency, and patient experience. She/he must have the ability to confidently establish relationships with Physicians and Physician leaders. The Executive Director may be asked to manage a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. In such cases she/he will create functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develop budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure, while acquiring a thorough knowledge of the managed sub-function and of the overall departmental function.Job Description:Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):Strategy and Business DevelopmentIn conjunction with the clinical and senior administrative leadership, sets the strategic vision of the divisions and executes that mission.Oversees all new multi-disciplinary program development across the divisionsLeads the strategic development and deployment of the divisions across LHMC and Beth Israel Lahey Health affiliatesDevelops relationships and leads team building with physician leadership, senior administration and other colleagues to help achieve defined division, departmental and organizational strategic goals at LHMC and Beth Israel Lahey Health affiliates.In conjunction with clinical leadership, identifies new treatment modalities and opportunities, including the development of practical business plans to support the modalities.Participates in marketing and promotional initiatives within her/his assigned divisions, developing marketing campaigns, implementing programs and reporting on measured results.Directs daily operations of assigned divisions by translating business vision and strategy into operational goals, objectives, workflows and implementation plans.FinancialIn coordination with the division Finance Director, prepares departmental operational and capital budgets, developing a financial reporting structure to appropriately monitor strategic goals (including optimizing affordability of services), financial projections and long-term forecasted development.Establishes revenue and expense targets with physician leadership and Vice Presidents.Implements processes to achieve and monitor financial performance improvement through the leadership of revenue cycle teams.Provides supervision, guidance and monitoring of staff efforts to achieve budgeted revenue and expense targets.Investigates and manages financial problem areas; proposes solutions and implements action where applicable.Prepares necessary financial, statistical and operational data for new programs or businesses, including the expected return of investment to the organization.Maintains a thorough understanding of clinical reimbursement and managed care issues specific to the assigned divisions. Identifies opportunities to optimize clinical reimbursement and implements new policies and procedures as necessary.Operations/Work Flow/ComplianceIn conjunction with the Department Managers (Nurse Manager, Clinic Manager, Operations Manager, Program Manager), provides direction and guidance for all aspects of the daily administration and management of departments within the assigned divisions.In conjunction with the Department Managers, provides support to staff, enabling them to provide safe, cost-effective health care that exceeds the expectations of Lahey Hospital and Medical patients.In conjunction with the Department Managers, facilitates compliance with all regulatory agencies — DPH, OSHA, JCAHO, HIPPA, etc. — in all clinical, business and financial practices within the assigned divisions.Provides administrative guidance to managers and others, examining systems, employing analytical judgment, managing projects, organizing resources, and consulting on and solving problems. Financial management and budgeting experience also required, as is experience in developing and implementing performance improvement initiatives.Pay Range:$187,200.00 USD – $228,800.00 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
