Legal & Compliance - Conflicts Clearance, VP

Position Overview The successful candidate will assist in the firm’s conflicts clearance process and restricted and watch lists, and play a significant role in implementing and overseeing the firm’s information walls. Responsibilities Evaluate potential transactions to determine what names, if any, should be placed on the firm’s restricted or watch lists. Communicate with legal and compliance groups and deal teams to determine when companies should be added to or removed from the firm’s watch lists and restricted lists (e.g., MNPI/inside information assessment). Identify potential transactional conflicts and escalating them to the appropriate legal and business contacts. Analyze the firm’s touchpoints with companies to determine the existence of potential conflicts of interest. Formulate recommendations for addressing potential conflicts of interest. Document analysis for clearing conflicts. Obtain deal updates from investment teams. Evaluate and manage wall‑crossing requests. Review trade pre‑clearances from public side businesses. Assist with personal trading pre‑clearances as needed. Enhance the firm’s systems for documenting conflict checks and the restricted list/watch list. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. 7+ years of work experience at a major financial services firm in the control room and/or conflicts management group, or relevant legal and compliance experience. Strong analytical and issue‑spotting skills. Communicate confidently and effectively. Work independently while remaining a strong team player. Substantial initiative, creativity and drive. Attention to detail. Highly motivated, intelligent, and demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. Additional Licensing Requirements Depending on the position, you may be required to obtain certain securities licenses if you are in a client‑facing role or if you are engaged in the following activities: Attending client meetings where you discuss Blackstone products and/or client questions. Marketing Blackstone funds to new or existing clients. Supervising or training securities‑licensed employees. Structuring or creating Blackstone funds/products. Advising on marketing plans prepared by a sales team or contributing information for marketing materials. Location San Francisco Salary Expected annual base salary range: $165,000 – $250,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. For roles located outside the US, salary information will be based on local market comparables.
