Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Description The Machine Operator will operate machines such as filling equipment, cappers, labelers, sealers, and related equipment to meet customer‑order driven production schedules. Duties include operating, repairing, and overhauling mechanical equipment, supervising machine operations, and ensuring safety as a primary objective by following GMP, safety, regulatory, and AAK Foodservices procedures. Responsibilities Follow GMP and safety guidelines; wear PPE and adhere to all safety rules. Determine machine adjustments based on product specifications and material requirements. Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template. Observe machine operation to detect product defects and/or machine malfunctions. Actively identify mechanical issues that may cause machine breakdown or downtime, report to supervisor, and work to minimize downtime. Record reasons for downtime in CDC system. Stop and reset equipment during malfunctions, clear machine jams, and report impairments to the Production Supervisor. Perform periodic product sample weights to ensure proper fill weight and quality conformity against customer standards. Replace and replenish containers of product to be filled and packaging supplies such as film, laminate, and mount rolls on spindles. Complete required documentation for product quality assurance. Perform changeovers and minor machine maintenance and adjustments as needed, and communicate with maintenance personnel for larger requirements. Assist mechanics during preventative maintenance, machine service, or repairs following proper Lockout/Tagout procedures. Qualifications Experience operating in a fast‑paced, ready‑to‑eat food facility. Self‑guided and motivated to operate independently. Strong multitasking skills. Ability to work well under pressure. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment. Physical Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods while performing job duties. Must be capable of working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, lifting 50 lbs repeatedly, and wearing a respirator. Sensory Ability to hear, see, speak, smell, and touch adequately to perform basic essential tasks. Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision.
