Job Description: Data Engineer / Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SharePoint / Data-oriented developer

Overview

We are seeking a highly technical Data Engineer / Developer with experience in data modeling and data wrangling to support the automation and modernization of our Operations ecosystem. This role focuses on building scalable data transformation, pipelines, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, helping the teams on process automation, handling complex datasets, and developing dashboards that drive insights across consulting operations looking at sales, revenue and utilization data.

Experience with Projector (BigTime) or Salesforce-specifically their data models and APIs, not just end?user functionality-is strongly preferred. Prior experience supporting consulting or professional services organizations is a significant plus.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role suited for someone who asks smart questions, thrives in technical environments, and can quickly turn raw data into meaningful analytics in a constantly changing priorities environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Query, transform, and correlate large datasets to support analytics tied to sales opportunities, consulting operations, and project financials.

• Integrate data from Projector (BigTime) and/or Salesforce, leveraging APIs and understanding underlying data schemas.

• Validate report logic, iterate based on feedback, and maintain documentation for repeatable processes.

• Ensure safe handling of live production data in a non?segmented environment (no dev/prod separation).

• Build, enhance, and automate reporting pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Power BI within Fabric, Lakehouse, data engineering workloads).

• Develop Power BI dashboards that aggregate and visualize trends across financials, utilization, allocations, revenue, sales pipeline, and project performance.

• Work with backend data structures to design efficient models and ensure data accuracy across reports.

• Contribute to ongoing automation initiatives to streamline reporting and reduce manual effort.

• Support potential integrations with Jira for pipeline and workflow automation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency with data handling - query / transform / model

• Solid SQL coding skills for querying and transforming large datasets.

• Ability to understand complex data relationships and translate them into meaningful analytics.

• Strong analytical mindset with the confidence to ask clarifying questions and challenge assumptions.

• Experience working with APIs, data models, and backend integrations - especially for Projector (BigTime) or Salesforce.

• Experience supporting reporting and analytics in consulting or professional services environments.

• Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard development).

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (or Databricks as a comparable skillset) is a plus.

• Python experience is a plus.
