Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in community engagement and/or outreach, health education, wellness coordination, or related fields Experience in event planning, workshop facilitation, and partnership development Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills Knowledge of health equity, community resources, and culturally responsive engagement practices Passion for health and wellness, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends based on community events and program needs. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Cantonese and/or Mandarin strongly preferred Experience working with diverse, immigrant, or underserved populations Grant-funded program experience or healthcare/community partnership development experience Summary Position Summary The Health & Wellness Outreach Program Coordinator builds meaningful community relationships through culturally responsive outreach, health education, and wellness programming. Reporting to the Health & Wellness Director, this role recruits and retains program participants and members, facilitates workshops and events, develops strategic partnerships, and connects individuals to accessible health and wellness resources. Serving the Chinatown YMCA, this role leverages strong relationships with local residents, small businesses, and community organizations to expand culturally relevant access to health and wellness services, reduce barriers to participation, and strengthen community well‑being. This position also expands subsidy opportunities and community partnerships to increase equitable access to YMCA services. Community Outreach & Engagement Build trust and engage community members through outreach events, workshops, and health promotion activities. Recruit participants for health and wellness programs, with a focus on diverse and underserved communities. Represent the YMCA at community events and foster culturally responsive relationships that support ongoing engagement. Health Education & Program Coordination Plan and facilitate health-related workshops, wellness classes, screenings, and educational events. Connect individuals to wellness resources, healthcare navigation, subsidy opportunities, and supportive services. Support the development and evaluation of community health initiatives aligned with YMCA priorities. Partnership Development & Member Growth Collaborate with the Chinatown branch operations team to develop and sustain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and funding partners that support YMCA of Greater San Francisco priorities and community impact. Support third‑party subsidy programs, collaborative outreach efforts, and referral systems. Contribute to member acquisition and retention by connecting individuals to YMCA services and wellness opportunities. Administrative & Team Support Track outreach activities, program outcomes, and community partnerships using required systems. Support program logistics, reporting, event coordination, and operational needs. Collaborate across departments to strengthen health and wellness strategies while promoting equity, accessibility, and community impact.
