Post-Doctoral Associate

Postdoctoral Associate Position in Tumor Immunology/Immunotherapy The Hanks Lab is a basic/translational research lab in the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina with an interest in understanding cancer immune evasion and immunotherapy resistance. We are seeking a motivated, hardworking Post-Doctoral Candidate with a background in immunology to guide studies on the role of the tumor-intrinsic NLRP3 inflammasome in immune evasion and its impact on immunotherapy resistance in gastroesophageal cancer. This will be a two-year minimum position. The candidate will be expected to work independently but capable of collaborating with other lab members in a team-oriented work environment. Recent Ph.D. graduates preferred. Qualifications PhD Degree with background in immunology preferred Experience in working with murine tumor models required Extensive experience performing tissue culture-based assays Experience in multi-parameter flow cytometry and in the design of cell-based assays Experience generating and analyzing bulk RNAseq transcriptional sequencing data Experience performing tissue immunohistochemistry/immufluorescence studies Experience and/or interest in generating mouse and human tumor organoids Previous grant writing experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with good organizational and analytical abilities Capable of working independently on assigned projects while thriving in a team-oriented environment Interested candidates should send CV and references to Dr. Brent A.
