The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining the organization's supply chain protocols, procedures, and strategy to ensure an uninterrupted supply of goods and services at the best value for the company. This position requires a dynamic leader with excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. The Senior Procurement Manager will be the accountable seat that controls inventory and the cost of goods for the company and needs to have the integrity, drive, and business acumen to best meet the business needs of Direct while modeling our Core Values.ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively within the company in support of the Core Values, Team Charter and Business PlansDevelop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.Develop and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal termsPartner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.Monitor and forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.Monitor commodity trends for key commodities. Recommend action plans to mitigate risk and leverage opportunities.Buy key commodities.Develop process for cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking.Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.Establish standard operating procedures for purchasing; monitor the effectiveness of procedures; revise and improve purchasing processes.Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers; develop supplier performance metrics with annual audits of key suppliers and recognition for outstanding service.Exercise discretion and judgmentDraft proposals, review contracts, modify terms and conditions, express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in written form.RequirementsBS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration or equivalent experience.CPPO, Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Contract Negotiator, CPPB, or other advanced certification in procurement and/or contract administration preferred.5+ years' experience in the procurement of materials/equipment/supplies and the development and review of contracts in a manufacturing environment.Experience in commodity management for metals, compounds and resins preferred.Proven working experience as purchasing function manager.Expertise in sourcing and vendor management and developmentInterest in market dynamics along with a keen business senseSkilled at negotiation and networking with internal and external stakeholdersWorking experience of ERP and other analytical softwareAbility to gather and analyze data, create reports and to work with figures.Solid judgement and sound decision-making skillsBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families beginning on day one.Company-funded Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).Optional Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA).Disability, accident, critical illness, hospitalization, and life insurance options.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).401(k) with a 5% company match after 90 days of employment.Pet insurance.Generous paid time off, wellness days for eligible on-site employees, and paid holidays.Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
