Senior Collections Specialist, Accounts Receivable North America

DSV Air & Sea, Inc. seeks a results‑oriented Senior Collections Specialist for its Accounts Receivable team at the U.S. headquarters in Iselin, NJ. This full‑time, in‑office position is responsible for managing a multi‑million dollar portfolio, ensuring timely payment of outstanding receivables, and resolving complex payment issues to maintain DSV’s liquidity and customer relationships. Location: Iselin, NJ (MetroPark area). Key Responsibilities Execute proactive collection strategies for a multi‑million dollar portfolio of accounts. Communicate effectively with customers (verbal and written) to secure payment of outstanding accounts receivable. Resolve customer discrepancy claims and nonpayment issues by collaborating with Billing and Sales Administration. Process credit card transactions, refunds, adjustments, and prepare recommendations for write‑offs. Provide ongoing customer service, including data submission of invoices, generating statements, and handling special requests. Generate status reports detailing portfolio aging and payments. Prepare required documentation for placing accounts with third‑party collections agents. Support the Credit & Collection Management team with special projects and provide coverage for colleagues as needed. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of four years’ experience in credit and collections, or two years’ experience working with large, demanding, and complex accounts. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or equivalent post‑high school education/training. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically advanced Excel skills; SAP experience is a strong asset. Professional Skills Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. Professional interaction with customers and internal departments at all times. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Shipping industry experience is preferred but not required. Pay Range Base pay range: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00, determined by experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
