Responsibilities Travel nationwide for 13‑week assignments, providing speech‑language services in various settings. Organize and deliver speech‑language services to facilitate rehabilitation. Direct patient participation in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Facilitate learning of communication and swallowing skills; diminish or remediate disorders or deficits. Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire‑and‑safety hazards. Supervise CFYs temporary licensees, students, and support personnel as required. Deliver rehabilitation services efficiently, adhering to plan of care, schedule, and documentation. Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences, and related meetings. Make referrals and consult with the rehabilitation team to select appropriate therapeutic regimens. Adapt program and/or plan of care to the individual patient's needs. Order supplies and equipment; maintain and repair necessary equipment. Provide patient‑first service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere. Perform routine reexaminations and modify progress plans as needed. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or a similarly titled area accepted by ASHA. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients; establish diagnosis and design plan of care. Develop and implement treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patient and caregivers. Provide therapeutic techniques in areas such as cognitive‑communication, speech intelligibility, oral motor skills, swallowing disorders/dysphagia, perceptual abilities, orientation, memory, pragmatics, psychosocial expression, and functional communication. Possess ASHA‑guided competence in flexible/nasal endoscopy or perform FEES as required. Coordinate acquisition of adaptive communication devices and instruct patients in their use. Identify hearing deficits, refer for assessment and rehabilitation. Select appropriate activities suited to each patient’s capacity, intelligence level, and interests. Instruct patients in skills and techniques for therapeutic activities; evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior. Perform routine reexamination to modify or progress treatment plan.
