Role Description The Collections and Associations Attorney will manage a portfolio of matters involving community associations, collections, and related real estate and contract issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing legal documents, providing legal advice to association boards and property managers, and representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings. The role will also involve legal research, analysis of governing documents and statutes, and development of strategies to resolve delinquent accounts and association disputes. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Woodbridge, VA, requiring close collaboration with colleagues, clients, and local courts. Qualifications Strong foundation in Law with demonstrated experience in collections, real estate, and association matters. Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law as it relates to association governance and vendor or staff relationships. Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to boards, property managers, and individual clients. Proficient in legal Research, including statutes, case law, and governing documents relevant to community associations. Effective Negotiation skills for resolving disputes, settlements, and payment arrangements. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Virginia (or ability to obtain promptly). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting pleadings, correspondence, and opinion letters. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines. Prior experience with collections, community association law, or civil litigation is highly beneficial.
