The Role
We are seeking an Adaptive Personal Trainer to provide both:
- 1:1 personal training
- Adaptive group fitness classes
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive fitness and wants to be part of a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement individualized fitness programs based on each client’s abilities and goals - ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour
- Lead engaging, safe, and inclusive group fitness classes
- Modify exercises to meet a wide range of needs and diagnoses
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Build strong relationships with clients and their families
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities
(Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, etc.)
OR experience in special education or related settings
Certifications
- Nationally recognized personal training certification required
(NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of exercise physiology, anatomy, and basic nutrition
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Adaptability, patience, and a genuine passion for this population
Position Details
- 1099 Contractor
- Hourly Rate: $43–$50/hour (based on experience)
- Flexible schedule with opportunities for both individual and group sessions
