Assistant Branch Manager

Assistant Branch Manager – Seattle, WA Airgas, a leading U.S. supplier of industrial gases and related products, is hiring an Assistant Branch Manager in Seattle. The role supports daily branch operations, profitability, and sales growth while fostering a safe and inclusive workplace. Compensation: $28–$32 per hour, plus bonus opportunities. Monday– Friday, daytime hours. Core Responsibilities Provide day‑to‑day support to the Branch Manager in overseeing branch operations, profitability, and sales growth. Lead and support at least two retail store employees, managing compliance, retail sales, warehousing, and distribution. Schedule personnel and manage performance, including recruitment, mentoring, and coaching to meet regional goals. Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing company safety rules, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate deliveries, assist with routing, and collaborate with the Branch Manager, partner plant, and external vendors to ensure efficient schedules. Assist in marketing plan execution, merchandising, displays, and promotional activities to penetrate key market segments. Guide branch inventory, conduct daily cycle counts, maintain showroom and warehouse appearance, and oversee hard‑goods receiving and inter‑branch orders. Monitor SAP reports (open orders, deliveries, billing, purchase orders) and perform daily cash reconciliation (DCR) with timely error resolution and bank deposits. Schedule vendor product training sessions and support associate training on Airgas operating standards and safety regulations. Partner with corporate accounts receivable to manage branch credits and collections. Travel to surrounding Airgas locations for branch coverage or training when needed. Qualifications Required: High‑school degree or equivalent; 1–3 years related experience or training; one year of supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience. Preferred: Basic product knowledge of welding, safety, gases, and hard‑good supplies; experience with SAP or similar software; intermediate computer skills in a Google Platform environment. Excellent oral and written communication, strong service orientation, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and prioritization abilities in a deadline‑oriented environment. Ability to influence and work independently as well as in a team; effective with individuals at all organizational levels. Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
