Crockett ISD – Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) School: Crockett ISD Campus: District Wide Commitment: Full Time Openings: 1 Overview Reports to: Director of Special Education. Perform professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems. Assess the psychological and psycho‑educational needs of students referred to special education services and develop appropriate instructional programs in collaboration with instructional personnel. Responsibilities Select and administer assessments and observations to evaluate the intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning of referred students and determine eligibility for special education services in accordance with federal and state regulations. Develop psychological evaluation reports and behavior management plans. Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with placement decisions and the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Serve as case manager and implement the special education assessment process for assigned campuses. Meet with parents to discuss background information and test results; conduct group, individual, and family counseling sessions and facilitate therapy for students with diagnosed problems. Consult teachers and relevant staff concerning educational needs, interpretation of assessment data, and implementation of behavior intervention plans. Consult with psychologists, psychiatrists, medical doctors, and community agencies regarding students’ intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning as needed. Compile and evaluate comprehensive student information, including classroom observations, personal interviews, and assessment data. Present staff development training in assigned schools to assist personnel in identifying and understanding students with disabilities. Assist classroom teachers with IEP implementation. Qualifications Master’s Degree in School Psychology or related field. State Certification/License as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP).
