DSV – Global transport and logistics Location: USA - Lancaster, Midpoint Dr Division: Solutions Job Posting Title: Supervisor, Inventory Time Type: Full Time The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for maintaining perpetual record integrity in distribution, ensuring inventory accuracy through the administration of the cycle count program, and thoroughly analyzing and responding to miscellaneous issues and receipts. The role also oversees the functions performed by inventory associates and related staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implement space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards. Monitor space layout plan to ensure ongoing compliance with company standards. Implement and maintain an effective product locator system. Delegate work and responsibility to subordinates. Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluate the performance of inventory staff. Analyze daily cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical count and perpetual record. Audit the daily error report and make corrections as necessary. Analyze and publish monthly data from WMS reports indicating cycle count dollar variances. Analyze stock change transactions for validity to the product structure. Analyze miscellaneous receipts and issues and take corrective action as appropriate. Serve as distribution leader for Physical Inventory. Gain complete knowledge of the online Inventory Audit Trail to facilitate research toward corrective action. Prepare monthly reports highlighting major problems and updates on projects or assignments. Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., in‑transit report, shipping adjustments). Assist with associate relations and training. Audit warehouse daily for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles; maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; promote safety among crew. Transmit e‑mails to DSV representatives and clients, write corrective/preventive actions, complete reports for operations manager, follow up with attendance reports, write counseling memos and evaluations; all communication must be accurate and professional. Conduct daily startup meetings, encouraging associates to provide feedback, coordinate operations with manager to ensure completion of daily objectives, and discuss internal or external issues. Provide good communication and motivational techniques; ensure all company rules are followed; provide management with information regarding labor/equipment needs. OTHER DUTIES Perform other duties as required. Assist management as needed. Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends; participate in cross‑training matrix activities; serve as backup associate when needed. Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for inventory leads, associates and CSR within the department. Ensure training and development of associates related to product placement and equipment usage. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED; 1 year of experience in a logistics/distribution environment; ability to operate MHE. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; use of RF scanners; proficiency with WMS functions. Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal). Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities, count inventory, or perform related duties. Other Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to perform duties with minimal supervision; adaptability to change; ability to work in unregulated temperatures within warehouse. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1–3 years experience working in an inventory department. 1–3 years in a progressive leadership role. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Bending, bending, and occasional lifting of 11–20 pounds. Walking, standing, and frequent movement. Sitting, frequent, and constant. Reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel as required. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is typically low to moderate noise; exposure to fumes or airborne particles is rare; no toxic or caustic chemicals are involved.
