Job Summary Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team in coordinating research activities that may include conducting a variety of routine experiments with established methodologies, data collection and management, and other research activities as assigned. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor’s degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification. Does this position require Patient Care? No. Essential Functions Responsible for data collection, management, manipulation, analysis, and reporting. Study cohort management. Outreach communication with subjects, conducting mailings, follow-up on mailings, and obtaining necessary documents. Provides assistance on work related to epidemiological studies and other population-based research. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree Science required. Experience: New grad with some relevant coursework 0-1 year preferred. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Careful attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks. Computer literacy, including database tools. Ability to follow directions and exhibit professionalism. Additional Job Details (if applicable) College degree in psychology, neuroscience, pre-med, or other related field. Applicants with 1+ year of experience post graduation from a Bachelor’s degree will be considered for Research Assistant 2 position. Experience in performing cognitive testing and administering behavioral questionnaires in a research or clinical setting, preferably in elderly subjects or patients. Ability to work well independently, prioritizing work according to and within established study protocols. Ability to learn quickly, with a strong history of taking initiative and motivation for Alzheimer’s disease research. Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with a variety of people in person and on the telephone. Must be able to relate well with participants, caregivers, physicians/investigators, and administrators. Ability to work under stress; the clinical research setting is a very busy and demanding environment.
