Description
- Assess patients across all ages using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans that cater to specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Implement one-on-one speech therapy sessions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families, to ensure a unified approach to care.
- Educate patients and families to support progress beyond the clinical setting.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments, maintaining continuity in patient care throughout their recovery journey.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation following state and federal regulations.
- Commit to continuous learning and professional development by staying informed on the latest advancements in the field.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment.

- Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques for all age groups, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
- Able to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation protocols.
