The Nursing Assistant II performs patient care to patients under the direction and supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse. Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, located on the downtown Orlando campus, opened in 2006, providing programs and services focused on the unique needs of women and newborns. Specialized care covers all facets of women's health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births. The hospital is "Magnet" recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care and is certified in perinatal care by The Joint Commission. Welcoming nearly 14,000 babies each year, the hospital's 350 beds include 142 neonatal intensive care beds, making it one of the largest neonatal intensive care units under one roof in the country.Responsibilities include assisting patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination, and nutritional needs, providing routine treatments, maintaining a safe and organized patient environment, and ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality. The Nursing Assistant II also assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, takes and records vital signs, and participates in handoff report and purposeful hourly rounding of patients.Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of nursing assistant work experience within the past five years, and current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification. Experience in a relevant healthcare setting is preferred, but not required for graduates of an approved school of nursing or other trainings listed in the training requirements.
