Robert Half is partnering with a publicly traded real estate investment organization to identify an Accounting Director . This is a highly visible leadership opportunity with a financially strong, growth-oriented company that owns a large and diverse national real estate portfolio.
Reporting to senior accounting leadership, this role will oversee the accounting and reporting activities for a significant real estate portfolio while leading a team of accounting professionals. The position offers the rare combination of strategic leadership, technical accounting, cross-functional collaboration, and direct exposure to executive management. Responsibilities include:
Lead the accounting and financial reporting for a large real estate portfolio.
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Review lease transactions, property-level accounting, and related account reconciliations.
Partner closely with Acquisitions, Asset Management, Treasury, FP& A, Legal, and Financial Reporting teams.
Support investments, dispositions, financing activities, and other strategic transactions.
Identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and efficiencies across the accounting function.
Serve as a trusted business partner and accounting resource for senior leadership.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Significant accounting experience within commercial real estate, REITs, lease accounting, or related industries.
Prior leadership experience with responsibility for managing and developing accounting teams.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and complex lease accounting concepts.
Experience in a public company, REIT, or large corporate accounting environment is highly desirable.
CPA strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Proven ability to improve processes, drive results, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
