Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position available in a coastal California community. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care, including triage, treatment, and discharge procedures for patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics. This position supports the organizations mission to deliver high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Location: California
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing; Current RN license in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) completed within 6 months of hire or transfer; Minimum of 1 year in acute care setting; Valid state-specific RN license
• Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent; Recent Epic electronic health record experience
• Essential Functions: Conducts accurate triage assessments on all patients and promptly notifies the emergency physician of abnormal signs and symptoms; Reviews and completes patient orders efficiently; Provides medication side effects education to patients and includes this information in discharge instructions; Recognizes critical symptoms such as cardiac or respiratory distress and initiates appropriate interventions; Competent in medication administration, intravenous therapy, care of indwelling catheters and drains, and use of critical care medical equipment; Interprets ECG rhythms and manages care during emergencies; Participates in Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations; Performs accurate documentation of care, responses to treatments, and patient responses; Conducts safety and quality control checks regularly; Coordinates care with inpatient units during patient admissions from the ED; Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Organizational Requirements: All staff must adhere to vaccination requirements and participate in E-Verify process.
