Formed through the merger of Ironclad Environmental and Mersino Dewatering, the combined company operates a multi-branch network across Texas, Louisiana, California, the Upper Midwest, and other key industrial regions, delivering rental fleet, engineered water management, and liquid containment solutions to customers who depend on uptime, safety, and technical expertise.About the RoleThe primary responsibility of the Fleet Manager is to oversee the purchasing, receipt and allocation of all fleeted equipment throughout the organization, to ensure proper allocation or reallocation of equipment throughout the organization based on utilization and upcoming needs, and to ensure inventory accuracy in all branch locations at all times. The Fleet Manager will work with Regional Managers and individual branches to ensure proper forecasting of equipment needs and will also ensure proper inventory levels are maintained at all times, so that equipment and supplies are available for projects when needed. The Fleet Manager will also serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.What You'll DoWork with Regional, Branch, and Logistics Managers to forecast equipment needs based on planned and anticipated workload, and ensure that proper equipment and supply inventory levels are maintained at all times in order to fulfill all project needsDirectly oversee vehicle and rig needs throughout the organization, managing the vehicle fleet rental program and overseeing the ordering, distribution and overall allocation of all vehiclesAnalyze ROI and utilization for fleeted assets on a continual basis and reallocate assets with poor ROI based on branch needs to ensure the highest utilization rate possibleAct as the point of contact and coordinate all equipment needs and purchasing for national and environmental trenching projectsDevelop and publish descriptive, diagnostic and predictive key metrics to measure the performance and ROI of equipment company-wide; prepare and distribute reports to the appropriate management team members to help measure and improve those key metricsReview all purchase requests (PORs) for fleeted inventory units such as pumps, generators, forklifts, vehicles, etc. to ensure the request is appropriateWork with purchasing to fulfill equipment and supply needs that are sourced through external vendorsPlace and coordinate pump and equipment orders with Global Pump as neededReview and approve branch inventory transfers, coordinating delivery with internal resources when possible and coordinating third party hauling when necessaryEnsure all purchased inventory, especially fleeted assets, is appropriately received, accounted for and entered into MDI as required, including proper coding for fleeted assetsEnsure inventory accuracy at all branch locations through inventory auditing, as well as auditing and enforcement of inventory policies and proceduresOwn, enforce, audit and continually develop the branch inventory cycle count program, investigating and resolving deficiencies or anomalies when detectedReview all inventory transactions company-wide for procedure adherence such as equipment photos, signatures on paperwork, tablet usage, dispatch, transfer and return procedure adherence, etc, to provide constructive feedback to Regional Business Managers or other management personnel as appropriateEnsure Fleet Inventory Auditors are regularly visiting all branch locations to complete branch inventory audits and provide feedback on logistics procedure adherence to Regional Business ManagersEnsure all branch locations have adequate yard setup, yard organization, yard maps; work with Regional Business Managers, Branch Managers and Logistics Managers to implement improvements when necessaryDrive compliance with DOT regulations in all branch locations; partner with Safety to ensure that all drivers receive the proper training required to perform their job safely, and administer corrective action when violations or deficiencies are reported or identifiedManage the Vehicle Allowance Program to monitor active participants and ensure adherence with the program at all times; update the program when necessaryPartner with Branch Management to ensure that all yard personnel are properly trained on safety policies and procedures, especially cargo loading and cargo securement, in an effort to eliminate hazards and prevent and accidents, incidents or DOT cargo violationsActively monitor and review adherence to company policies and procedures related to DOT including pre-trip inspections, preventative maintenance, and annual DOT inspections for vehicles, and provide training and/or corrective action when necessaryAct as a dotted line report to all Branch Logistics Managers and ensure all Logistics Managers are properly trained and equipped to fulfill the duties of their positionDevelop, improve and implement inventory and logistics procedures as necessaryEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirementsWhat You'll BringBachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or a related field of study, or an equivalent amount of experience in Fleet Management, Logistics Management or a related field5+ years of experience of senior level management experienceExperience in creating and establishing fleet policies and procedures including DOT regulations, vehicle assignment, replacement cycling, personal use, and accident reportingExperience in price, spec, and purchase or lease vehicles including understanding and tracking total cost of ownership (TCO)Experience in contract negotiation and pricing managementPlanning and organizational skills in handling multiple projectsProficient in PC software applications including Microsoft ExcelAbility to work with others in addressing inner organizational issuesKnowledge of budgeting and cost estimatingSkills in workflow analysis and managementSpecific Expectations:Ability to travel up to 50%A professional demeanorExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work under pressure to meet deadlinesAbility to work flexible schedule to meet job requirementsRequires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkwardDisclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
