Dental Assistant needed for Dental Offiice located in Bardonia, NY

Salary $25-$28/ HR; BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities:

• Assist the dentist during exams and procedures, ensuring efficient four-handed dentistry

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials; maintain a clean and organized clinical environment

• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories in compliance with OSHA and CDC guidelines

• Take and process dental X-rays in accordance with state regulations

• Accurately chart patient information, treatment notes, and clinical records

• Provide patient education, post-operative instructions, and support to ensure comfort and understanding

• Greet patients warmly and manage check-in and check-out processes

• Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments to support efficient office flow

• Answer phones, respond to messages, and address patient questions professionally

• Verify insurance eligibility, submit claims, and follow up on outstanding insurance matters

• Collect copays and payments, post charges, and assist patients with billing and treatment plan questions

• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance

• Coordinate communication between front desk, clinical team, and providers

• Monitor and restock clinical and office supplies as needed

• Support overall office operations and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

Qualifications:

•    Minimum one year of experience as a chairside dental assistant. 

•    Must be able to take radiographs.

•    Must be comfortable working chairside with suctioning and other tasks.

•    Experience with Dentrix is preferred.

•    Front desk experience is preferred but not required; must be willing to learn. 

•    Must be willing and able to help with any task.
