Manager Financial Analytics & Data

Client: Financial Services Firm Role: Manager, Financial Data & Analytics Location: New York City or Morris County, NJ (Hybrid) Salary: $170,000 - $200,000 + bonus About the role This role sits within the broader finance function and focuses on strengthening how financial data is structured, governed, and used for decision-making. The position partners across finance, business teams, and technical stakeholders to improve reporting, enhance data consistency, and build scalable analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable working at the intersection of finance and data, translating business needs into actionable insights and more efficient reporting processes. Responsibilities Act as a key point of contact within finance for data‑related needs, helping define priorities for reporting and analytics initiatives Convert business questions and financial objectives into structured data definitions, logic, and reporting outputs Collaborate with internal data and technology teams to support development of finance data infrastructure and tools Help establish and maintain standards for financial metrics, ensuring alignment and consistency across reports and systems Support data validation, reconciliation, and ongoing quality improvement efforts Deliver analysis on key performance trends and drivers to support leadership decision‑making Build and maintain recurring reports and analytical outputs that improve visibility into business performance Contribute to the development of dashboards and self‑service reporting tools for finance and operational partners Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve efficiency through automation or streamlined processes Work cross‑functionally to align reporting approaches and enhance overall usability of financial insights Requirements 5‑8+ years of experience in FP&A, finance analytics, business intelligence, or a related field Strong understanding of financial concepts, metrics, and performance analysis Experience translating business needs into structured data and reporting requirements Ability to work with large datasets and present findings in a clear, actionable manner Familiarity with data tools, BI platforms, or SQL‑based environments is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across technical and non‑technical teams Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and problem‑solving capabilities Demonstrated interest in improving processes and scaling reporting or analytics workflows EEO Notice Vaco by Highspring is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, religion or creed, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, status as a veteran, union membership, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, political affiliation, or any other protected characteristics as required by federal, state or local law.
