Node JS Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced  Node.js Lead to join our engineering team in  Irving, TX . The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader with strong expertise in  Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, Microservices, cloud technologies, and modern backend development .

The Node.js Lead will be responsible for leading technical design and development, mentoring engineers, establishing development best practices, and delivering highly scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise applications.

This is a 100% onsite position in Irving, TX , and candidates must be  local to the Dallas/Irving area and able to work onsite from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable backend applications using  Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript .

• Provide hands-on technical leadership throughout the complete software development lifecycle.

• Design and develop  RESTful APIs, Microservices, and event-driven applications .

• Lead and mentor a team of Node.js/backend developers.

• Review technical designs, architecture, code, and development practices.

• Establish coding standards, development guidelines, and reusable design patterns.

• Work closely with Solution Architects, Product Managers, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.

• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Design and optimize application architecture for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.

• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using technologies such as  OAuth 2.0 and JWT .

• Develop and maintain high-quality APIs and backend services.

• Optimize database queries, application performance, and service response times.

• Support CI/CD processes and automated deployments.

• Ensure applications meet enterprise security, quality, and performance standards.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Technical Skills

• 8+ years of software development experience with strong hands-on Node.js experience.

• Strong expertise in  Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript .

• Hands-on experience with  Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks .

• Strong experience developing  REST APIs and Microservices .

• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.

• Experience with  SQL and NoSQL databases , including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or similar.

• Experience with at least one major cloud platform:  AWS, Azure, or GCP .

• Strong experience with  Docker and Kubernetes .

• Experience with  Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, design patterns, and application architecture.

• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as  Jest, Mocha, Chai, or Supertest .

• Experience working with production applications and resolving complex technical issues.

• Strong understanding of API security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with  Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging/event-streaming platforms .

• Experience with  Redis or other caching technologies .

• Knowledge of  GraphQL .

• Experience with  AWS Lambda / Serverless architecture .

• Experience with  Terraform / Infrastructure as Code .

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as  Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, or CloudWatch .

• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.

• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be local to Irving, TX / Dallas-Fort Worth area.

• Must be available to work 100% onsite in Irving, TX.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

The ideal candidate is a  hands-on Node.js technical leader  who can both  write production-quality code and lead a development team . Candidates should have strong experience building enterprise-grade APIs and microservices, working with cloud platforms, troubleshooting production systems, and making sound architectural decisions.
