We have an opportunity for a Quality Technician to join our Sanford, NC team. You will perform the critical tasks of identifying the strengths and weaknesses of current quality methods, addressing issues, and performing corrective measures by implementing failure analysis, authenticating quality standards, and conducting quality systems self-assessments while maintaining an active communication with quality management on all quality assurance activities. You will: Provide leadership and mentorship to Quality Technicians and other quality team members. Support, cover, and train Quality Technician roles across all site departments. Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and follow up with suppliers in coordination with Quality Engineers. Participate in process design reviews and PFMEA development with process owners. Develop control plans from PFMEAs and ensure control plans remain aligned with PFMEA updates. Utilize PFMEA analysis to drive product reliability improvements and reduce field returns. Generate PPAP requirements, submit packages through ETQ, and track completion. Review PPAP submissions and issue final warrant/disposition decisions. Identify quality criteria and requirements to improve product design and manufacturing process capability. Evaluate and implement poka-yoke (error-proofing) opportunities within manufacturing processes. Audit supplier quality systems. Share problem-solving techniques, corrective actions, and lessons learned with Quality Engineering. Travel to supplier locations as required to support quality initiatives and issue resolution. Travel to customer sites to investigate product defects and quality concerns. Assist with customer-site problem-solving activities, including defect documentation, containment recommendations, and collection of product and installation data. Train operators and associates on quality systems and quality-related procedures. Develop and implement quality process improvements, including automated data collection, SPC programs, and non-contact measurement technologies. Serve as a quality team facilitator by coordinating training needs, providing team feedback, balancing workloads, securing resources, monitoring team progress, and supporting change management activities. Lead cross-functional teams in solving medium-complexity quality issues using RCCM methodology. Key Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) required. Some college coursework preferred. Approx. 3-5 years of quality experience. Can work independently with minimal supervision. Advanced organizational skills. Proficiency in metrology principles and measurement techniques. Knowledge and application of PFMEA. Knowledge of PPAP requirements. Proficiency in GD&T. Strong understanding of SPC. Proficiency in Minitab. Position hours/shifts: 1st6:30 am: 3:00pm Mondaythrough Friday (Plus overtime and weekends if needed) Physical Requirements: Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting, and lowering weights up to 50lbs. Steel toed shoes are required on the distribution floor. Compensation: The hourly pay for this role is: $40.00. Opportunity for a rate increase after you are proficient in certain skills and have fulfilled training.
