With kindness and integrity as our guide, we strive for excellence in every interaction.Requirements:You care.Assistant Director of Nursing: Generous BonusesGrowth OpportunitiesHealth BenefitsPOSITION SUMMARYThe primary responsibility of your job position is to assist with planning, organizing, developing, and directing overall operation of our Nursing Service Department following the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care and assisted living facilities. You are entrusted to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activitiesDevelop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service departmentPerform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessaryDetermine the staffing needsRecommend the number and level of nursing personnel to be employedAssist in calculating the number of direct nursing personnel care on duty each shiftEnsure that all nursing assistants are enrolled in or have graduated from an approved training programDevelop work assignments and schedule duty hoursMake daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure all nursing personnel are performing their work assignmentsReview complaints and grievances made or filed by department personnelEnsure that disciplinary action is administered fairlyParticipate in the interviewing and selection of residents for admissionDevelop a written plan of care for each resident that identifies the problems/needs, indicated the care to be given, goals to be accomplished, and which professional service is responsible for each element of carePrepare and plan the nursing service department's budget and submit to the Administrator.Schedule, attend, and participate in nursing service meetingsDemonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitorsPerform all other duties, as assignedTALENT:Relationship BuildingHave a caring attitude and sincere interest in othersDemonstrate friendliness and enthusiasmBuild relationships with all types of peopleInfluencingCommunicate effectivelyExecutingSelf -directedAbility to organize and prioritizeAbility to exercise judgment and display understandingDetail oriented and follow throughStrategic ThinkingSolve problems effectivelyCreative in coming up with options and varietyCuriosity and desire to learnSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents servedMust be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilitiesMust have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as willingness to handle difficult residentsEDUCATION:Must be a graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program. Must maintain a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferredEXPERIENCE:Must have, as a minimum, one (1) year of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related health care facility Prefer a minimum (6) months experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practicesWORK ENVIRONMENT:Moves intermittently during working hours.Is subject to frequent interruptions.Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.Works beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facilityMust meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a mental and physical examinationMust possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully metMust be able to push, pull, move, and /or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feetMay be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
