We are looking for a Care Professional Manager to lead the Care Professional employment experience from onboarding, through training & development, engagement, performance management, recognition, and retention. This role builds a dependable, skilled, and engaged Care Professional team so clients and families receive consistent, high-quality care. 

The Care Professional Manager reports directly to the General Manager and works collaboratively with Recruiting, Scheduling, Client Care, Human Resources, and other members of the office and corporate teams. This position serves as a primary leader, coach, and resource for Care Professionals, providing support while maintaining clear expectations and accountability for performance.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Partner with the office recruiter to maintain a disciplined, timely hiring process. Recruiting owns sourcing, initial interview, candidate communication, and interview scheduling.

• Assist and or conduct required in-person interview and assess professional judgment, reliability, communication, availability, relevant experience, learning agility, and alignment with Love (v.).

• Set clear and honest expectations about the work, including client needs, schedules, travel, attendance, documentation, professional boundaries, teamwork, and performance standards.

• Create a welcoming transition from recruiting into employment and confirm required screening, documentation, orientation, and initial training are complete before an independent assignment.

• Serve as the primary supervisor for Care Professionals after hire and build trusted relationships through regular contact, active listening, prompt follow up, recognition, and visible support.

• Complete/Assign required Care Professional touchpoints and development conversations at the cadence established by the company.

• Set clear standards and provide direct, timely feedback regarding attendance, communication, conduct, documentation, skills, teamwork, and quality of care.

• Coach for improvement using specific examples, clear expectations, appropriate resources, measurable next steps, and follow up dates.

• Independently deliver coaching and written corrective action in accordance with company policy. Obtain General Manager approval before suspension or termination.

• Address complaints and workplace concerns objectively, protect confidentiality, document facts, and promptly escalate safety, legal, ethical, or employee relations risks.

• Recognize strong performance and identify Care Professionals ready for additional training, responsibility, or Lead Care Professional opportunities.

• Use turnover, retention, touchpoint, engagement, and satisfaction results to recommend and implement practical improvements.

• Own and conduct Care Professional orientation, ongoing education, annual requirements, annual reviews, skills refreshers, and hands-on competency validation.

• Teach and evaluate essential care practices, including safe mobility and transfers, personal care, dementia support, professional boundaries, documentation, and use of relevant equipment.

• Conduct field observations and Care Professional quality or competency assessments as needed, including when a concern, skill gap, incident, or change in client needs requires review.

• Create improvement or retraining plans when a gap is identified and verify competency before the Care Professional resumes the affected task.

• Use qualified Lead Care Professionals to support introductions, training, or skill reinforcement when appropriate while retaining accountability for quality and completion.

Ask for and manage internal CP referrals

• Partner with Scheduling and Client Care to prepare Care Professionals for assignments, resolve fit or performance barriers, and support continuity of care.

• Respond to Care Professional-related client concerns, investigate the Care Professional side of the issue, provide coaching or retraining, and communicate resolution steps to GM

• Review Care Professional injuries, incidents, and near misses; ensure timely documentation, follow up, and communication.

• Reinforce safe work practices through orientation, coaching, skills training, and field follow up.

• Provide local safety education and implement appropriate actions in response to safety trends identified by HR.

• Partner with the General Manager and HR on safety-related corrective actions and risk reduction.

• Promptly escalate urgent safety concerns and help protect clients, Care Professionals, and the organization from preventable harm.

• Maintain timely, factual, objective, and confidential records of interviews, orientation, training, competency assessments, touchpoints, coaching, corrective actions, field observations, and follow up commitments.

• Apply company policies and employment practices consistently and support compliance with wage and hour, equal employment opportunity, disability, leave, safety, privacy, and recordkeeping requirements.

• Communicate clearly and respectfully with Care Professionals, applicants, clients, families, office colleagues, and community partners.

• Maintain regular attendance and the flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend introductions, training, meetings, or urgent Care Professional needs.

• Perform other responsibilities reasonably related to the role and the needs of the business.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Care Professional turnover and retention performance against current company and office targets.

• Completion and quality of required training and competency validation.

• Completion of required Care Professional touchpoints at the established cadence.

• Care Professional engagement and satisfaction results and evidence of timely action in response.

• Timeliness and quality of coaching and corrective action documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Three or more years of formal people management experience, including direct supervision of a frontline workforce, performance coaching, corrective action, and employee relations responsibilities.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct structured interviews, evaluate talent, make sound decisions, lead difficult conversations, and maintain appropriate confidentiality.

• Strong professional judgment, emotional intelligence, accountability, organization, follow through, and written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to interpret retention, engagement, training, and performance information and translate it into practical action.

• Comfort using applicant tracking, scheduling, learning, documentation, communication, and reporting systems.

• Ability to learn, demonstrate, teach, and assess essential caregiving skills safely and consistently.

• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and required automobile insurance, with the ability to travel throughout the local service area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Leadership experience in home care, healthcare, staffing, hospitality, or another high accountability service environment.

• Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, nursing, social services, organizational leadership, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

• Experience leading training, skills validation, safety initiatives, or workforce retention programs.
