Job Title: Sterile Processing Production Coordinator
Location: Elmhurst, IL
Type: Contract – 13 Weeks | Local
Shift & Schedule: Nights | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Pay Rate: $25 - $27/hr

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Sterile Processing Production Coordinator to coordinate daily sterile processing activities and ensure surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly processed, sterilized, and distributed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily sterile processing workflow and instrument availability.

• Ensure instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, assembled, sterilized, and stored.

• Inspect and prepare surgical instrument sets accurately.

• Monitor quality control and compliance with infection-control and safety standards.

• Operate and monitor sterilizers, washer-disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and related equipment.

• Coordinate timely delivery of sterile supplies and equipment to OR and procedural areas.

• Communicate with OR staff, nurses, physicians, and other departments.

• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and instrument tracking.

• Support workflow coordination and quality improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 1–2 years of sterile processing experience preferred.

• Hospital sterile processing experience strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, and sterile storage.

• Knowledge of AAMI, OSHA, infection-control, and safety standards.

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment.

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with clinical staff.

• Ability to work night shifts and meet the physical demands of the role.

• Sterile Processing certification such as CRCST or CSPDT preferred or required per facility guidelines.
