Assistant Controller

Overview We’re hiring a Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to step into a high‑impact role supporting senior finance leadership and helping bring accounting operations fully in‑house. This position is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional with strong Sage Intacct experience , especially with dashboards and reporting, who’s ready to operate at a lead level and grow toward a future Controller role. Responsibilities Serve as the #2 in the accounting function, reporting directly to senior finance leadership Own general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and month‑end close Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements and management reports Build and maintain Sage Intacct dashboards, custom reports, and high‑level reporting Manage and reconcile transactions across multiple systems, including vendor invoices, credit cards, bank activity, and intercompany entries Understand and troubleshoot integrations between accounting and operational systems Handle invoicing, accounts receivable, and collections support Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements Support and collaborate with cross‑functional teams as needed Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Advanced Sage Intacct proficiency (required) — dashboards, reporting, and customization Strong grasp of accounting principles and best practices Advanced Excel skills Ability to work independently with minimal oversight Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills Nice to Have Experience with Concur, Salesforce, and/or Paylocity Background in small to mid‑sized organizations or lean accounting teams Prior lead‑level or Assistant Controller experience Multi‑entity or intercompany accounting exposure #J-18808-Ljbffr Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing Services
