What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care on a PCU unit, managing patients with diverse medical conditions such as AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, post-heart caths, and stroke overflow cases
• Monitor and titrate medications for cardiac and critical care patients, including Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Cardizem, among others (manager approval required for titratable gtts experience)
• Support central line care, chest tube management, and ventilator management as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, and ST
• Maintain accurate documentation via EMR (Meditech Expanse) and ensure compliance with hospital protocols
• Participate in orientation and unit-specific training for 2 (12-hour) shifts
• Work a flexible schedule, including every other weekend rotation and holidays, with scheduled days off and overtime expectations

What You Need
Required:

• Current RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure in LA
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience, ICU or PCU experience preferred
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Experience with titratable cardiac medications and critical care procedures
• Knowledge of Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
