Position Overview
FACE is seeking a full-time HUD-Certified Housing Counselor/ Coordinator to join its Housing Team. The Housing Counselor is responsible for providing a full range of client services for financial education, first-time home buying, and foreclosure prevention programs, including group education workshops, seminars, and individualized guidance. They will gather documentation needed to evaluate creditworthiness and eligibility of mortgage applicants for various homeownership programs, including mortgage loan products and down payment assistance. They will also be involved in delinquency counseling, assessing documentation to determine home retention workout options, which includes loan modifications and the California Mortgage Relief program. In addition, they will maintain positive and effective relationships with clients and program stakeholders. This job requires working on Saturdays/weekends.
DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED
This position requires Saturday hours minimum once or twice a month. The individual is expected to fulfill his/her job responsibilities beyond scheduled work hours. This may include community meetings and events in the evenings or weekends. The individual is also expected to participate in FACE's events which may occur outside of the regular business hours. This includes travel related to FACE events and job training.

FACE has been dedicated to serving the AAPI community and other underserved communities since its founding in 2001. Our organization works to uplift and maximize the capacity of faith-based organizations, community non-profits, and the AAPI community by fostering private and public collaborations and increasing access to resources and funds for those who need them. Our major programs include: our HUD-approved Homeownership Program, our C2 Leadership Institute, Stop AAPI Hate/Black & Asian Solidarity Initiative, AAPI Career Pathways Initiative, and Clean Energy Initiatives. FACE's Homeownership Program and Fairs have helped over 15,000 individuals be on their way to homeownership as well as prevent foreclosure. Our AAPI Career Pathways Initiative has provided over 600 youth access to paid internships & job training as well as mentorship through our monthly AAPI speaker series. Our C2 Leadership Institute has graduated seven cohorts of faith leaders and young people with the tools to serve and empower their communities. In response to the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on the AAPI community, we launched our Black & Asian Solidarity and Stop AAPI Hate Initiatives to discuss true allyship, raise awareness on myths and issues facing AAPI, and advocate for the AAPI community. We also conducted various COVID-19 relief movements including but not limited to food bag, vaccine, covid test, and facemask disbursement.

Position Overview

DUTIES TO BE PERFORMED
- Coordinate/conduct case management, training and outreach for housing counseling and homebuyer education.
- Conduct group education on a variety of topics relative to financial literacy, home buying and foreclosure prevention.
- Conduct one-on-one sessions with prospective borrowers in order to: analyze financial and credit information, determine customer financing objectives, eligibility of down payment products and gather any additional required information to determine mortgage readiness.
- Conducts one-on-one sessions with delinquent homeowners to assist clients in evaluating opportunities available through various foreclosure prevention programs.
- Identify, develop and maintain a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new clients.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry program requirements pertaining to financial literacy, homeownership, and foreclosure prevention.
- Entering a client's personal details into our Client Management System (Mpact Pro)
- Case and session creation/documentation in Mpact Pro
- Maintaining client documents and forms that have been uploaded on our file sharing system (ShareFile)
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and reservations as needed
- Help to coordinate various in-person and virtual events
- Work with marketing team to develop digital and physical collateral to promote various events and programs
- HUD-Certification for Housing Counseling (Certificate or other proof of certification required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of people and organizations
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and follow through within deadlines and case management
- Attention to detail and accurate data input of client data in client tracking database
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Passion for service and strong desire to grow
- Perform other duties of similar nature or level as required
- Bilingual (English/Korean and/or English/Spanish Preferred)
- Previous housing/lending/real estate industry experience a plus
- Networking skills and having contacts with industry professionals a plus
