Naval Academy Men's Soccer Program AssistantThe Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.Responsible for directing the daily operations of the Naval Academy Men's Soccer program. Assists the Head Coach with the management, administration, and execution of the program. Adheres to the philosophy and objectives of the Naval Academy varsity intercollegiate athletics program. Ensures timely and accurate internal and external communications. Duties include, but are not limited to, men's soccer administrative budget input and oversight, assisting the administration with team logistics and travel, facilities coordination, field scheduling, meal coordination, academic oversight, and internal support duties as assigned by the Head Coach.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists Head Coach in developing and implementing operating plan, budgetary guidelines, and logistical support for Navy Men's SoccerWorks with equipment manager to recruit, direct and supervise all student-managersWorks closely with the Head Coach, NAAA staff and Academy staff relative to the academic progress of the student-athletes under their supervision.Coordinates all travel arrangements for in and out of season travelMaintains close working relationships with faculty rep, officer rep, compliance director, admissions, equipment staff, gameday operations, sports information, sport marketing, sports medicine, and sport nutritionServe as POC for all visiting teams; provide visiting team guide/timing sheets; coordinate practice time/laundry needsOversee assignment of game officials and communicates all necessary information regarding games/schedule changes/lodging arrangementsManage installation and maintenance of Men's Soccer technology/video equipmentOrganize all nutrition orders with Midshipmen Food Services, coordinate pick-up/deliveries, and maintain nutrition stationCreate and distribute unofficial/official visit itineraries, secure travel, communicate with prospective student athletes & families pre & post visitResponsible for all aspects of recruiting visits - meals, travel, lodging, rental cars, compliance, football tickets, reconciliation of expensesMaintain communication with Friends of Navy Soccer and manage financial supportOversee all Men's Soccer subscriptions/accounts and manage United Soccer Coaches membershipsEstablish and maintain community relationships/plan unique opportunities for Midshipman participationOversee Alumni correspondence/eventsMaintain up to date roster information and alert all departments with student athlete status changesCoordinate camps and communicate with Navy Sports Camps office on staffing/registration/schedule mattersOther duties as assignedQualificationsExperience, Education, & Certification(s) Bachelor degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.At least 3 years of experience in Division I soccer is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace software.Additional Eligibility RequirementsMust be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.Must possess a valid driver's license.This is an in-person position.Work Conditions/Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, or move for extended periods during practices, games, and recruiting events.Ability to lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Willingness and ability to travel frequently for recruiting, competitions, and professional development.Adequate vision, hearing, and speech to communicate effectively with student-athletes, staff, and external audiences.Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to a variety of weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, wind, and humidity.Physical stamina to manage long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the athletic season.Must possess or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.TravelTravel to away competitions is required.The NAAA Featured BenefitsMedicalDentalVision403(b) retirement planPaid holidaysPaid accrued vacation and sick daysNAAA paid life/AD&D insurancePay Range$50,000 - $60,000Application ProcessQualified applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and 3 professional referencesApplications will be accepted until the position is filled.Disclaimer StatementThis position description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
