Azure Kubernetes Service Engineer

Summary :

The Senior AKS Engineer is responsible for designing, building, automating, and supporting enterprise Kubernetes platforms within Microsoft Azure. This role requires deep hands-on expertise with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), cloud-native technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, and platform operations in large-scale production environments.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :

• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
  
• Administer Kubernetes workloads, node pools, ingress, scaling, networking, and storage.
  
• Build and maintain Docker containers and Kubernetes deployment configurations.
  
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
  
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes, infrastructure, networking, and application deployment issues.
  
• Implement Kubernetes and Azure security best practices including RBAC, network policies, secrets management, and workload identity.
  
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and platform reliability initiatives.
  
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams to improve platform scalability and deployment efficiency.
  
• Create and maintain operational documentation, standards, and runbooks.
  
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience :

• Bachelor's Degree from a Four (4) year College or University.
  
• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
  
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Kubernetes administration.
  
• Strong experience with:
  
  • Microsoft Azure
    
  • Kubernetes
    
  • Docker
    
  • Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
    
  • Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions
    

• Experience with Helm, ingress controllers, and Kubernetes networking concepts.
  
• Strong troubleshooting skills in production cloud environments.
  
• Experience with monitoring and logging platforms.
  
• Knowledge of Azure networking, DNS, load balancing, and cloud security best practices.
  
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
