The facility Behavioral Health Tech’s work together with administrative, clinical, and medical staff in realizing the company’s mission, vision, and goals by helping create and maintain a safe, structured, closely monitored inpatient environment. Although BHT’s do not provide direct care to clients, their overall purpose is in the support of those who provide direct care, treatment, or services to clients. This is accomplished by assisting in the effective operation of milieu-related activities, facilitating client safety and participation, as well as supporting clients in adhering to the client rules and expectations. Helps with safety activities by completing rounds, client observations, and room and safety checks. Assist with admissions including preparing client rooms, conducting bag searches, and orienting new clients to the program. Support clients in their treatment and recovery process and may be asked to provide client transportation, as needed, in company vehicles and other functions not mentioned here.

Although BHT’s do not provide direct care to clients, their overall purpose is in the support of those who provide direct care, treatment, or services to clients. This is accomplished by:

• Assisting in the effective operation of milieu-related activities.
• Conduct rounds, client observations, room, and safety checks throughout the day to facilitate client safety and participation in structured schedules, document rounds per organizational policies and procedures.
• Supporting clients in adhering to the client rules and expectations and document any rules violations and report to appropriate staff.
• Assist with admissions including preparing client rooms, conducting bag searches, and orienting new clients to the program.
• Support clients in their treatment and recovery process and may be asked to provide client transportation, as needed, in company vehicles.
• Participate in training, supervision, and meetings as required; this will include Health and Safety training and drills.
• Understanding and following all company policies and procedures, including those regarding Infection Control, illness reporting mandates, Incident Reporting, conduct, boundaries, and confidentiality.
• Other duties/responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
