Manufacturing Technician I

Location: Providence, RI (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $21.00–$23.00/hour
Duration: 3–4 Month Contract with Potential for Extension or Permanent Employment

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician I to support production and assembly operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This entry-level role is responsible for assembling products, conducting inspections, maintaining documentation, and supporting daily manufacturing activities while adhering to quality and safety standards.

This position works closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure products are built accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly and sub-assembly tasks following written and verbal instructions
• Follow established work procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines
• Conduct visual, in-process, and final product inspections
• Maintain accurate production records, test results, and manufacturing documentation
• Assist with updating bills of materials, work instructions, and production records as needed
• Support inventory control and material handling activities
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Identify and communicate production or quality concerns to supervisors and team leads
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience

• 0–1 year of manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or related experience preferred
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered

Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of hand tools, assembly processes, and manufacturing equipment
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
• Basic computer skills and comfort working with electronic documentation systems
• Ability to learn soldering techniques and other production processes as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, production, or quality inspection environments
• Familiarity with quality standards, production documentation, or regulated manufacturing processes
• Experience working with inventory systems or material tracking processes
• Soldering experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment
• Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements
• Ability to safely use required personal protective equipment when necessary
