Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider

Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Minimally Invasive (MIS) & Bariatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP).

This provider will function independently in their own clinic supporting our growing abdominal wall reconstruction practice (complex general surgery), in addition to providing post-op and follow-up support for other general surgery & bariatric surgery programs at Rush University Medical Center.

Practice alongside seven MIS & Bariatric surgeons and one fellow APP

Duties & Responsibilities

• Five, 8-hour dayshifts/week
• No weekends, no call
• Report directly to the Department of Surgery Lead APP
• Inpatient, outpatient and OR

Preferred Qualifications

• Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in bariatric surgery or related field is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.
• APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification.

Position Requirements

Nurse Practitioner:

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
• Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
• Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Physician Assistant

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
• Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
• CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards. Rush has over 600 APPs across the enterprise that provide comprehensive patient care each day autonomously and in collaboration with other members of the health care team. Across the system, the APPs are supported by 4 levels of leadership, including 39 Lead APPs, three chief CRNAs, and a Senior Director of Advanced Practice Providers. Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package. Pay Range: $124,610 - $175,000
