Join our growing team as a Senior DevOps Engineer, supporting the NGA customer mission.ResponsibilitiesWhat you get to do every day:In this role, you'll join our Common Operations Release Environment (CORE) team, providing high-quality, cost-effective cloud solutions to our clients. Be part of a dynamic environment where your expertise in cloud operations will drive significant enhancements in the efficiency and effectiveness of our customers' operations. As a DevOps Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for distributed and managed services automating the installation, configuration and maintenance of platform services.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Automate and optimize service deploymentsIntegrate with enterprise authentication servicesEstablish and improve system monitoring while maintaining established security protocols within development, test, and production systems.Architect, build and maintain On-Prem and cloud infrastructure to support team and customer initiativesMaintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc.)Administer production, staging and development environmentsManage and aggregate server logs and monitor for security and system related incidentsMonitor and analyze system performance, such as server load and resource usageMaintain and improve existing build and deployment processes using CI/CD toolsApply configuration management disciplines to maintain software revisions, security patches, hardening, and documentationEnforce best practices for security and reliability, and drive security initiatives, like access control and vulnerability testingWork with A&A Teams to maintain security requirements for operation of systemsMaintain documentation of designs/configurations, ensuring team members have continuity of recurring tasksFollow up on engineering tasks for operational solutions, and validate completionManage operational readiness board – present at weekly meetings and determine if development services are ready for automation based on best practices and maintainabilityTrack and ensure routine operations maintenance tasks are completed in a timely mannerParticipant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetingsOn-call support will be requiredQualificationsClearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI PolyEducation/Experience:Requires Bachelor's degree8+ years of experienceRequired Skills:Experience working with container images and platforms (Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift)Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processesUnderstanding of GitLab or other DevOps/Continuous Integration toolsUnderstanding of microservice design and architectural pattern best practicesUnderstanding of Python, Bash, and Shell scriptingKnowledge of network technologies, common infrastructure components, load balancers, firewalls, virtual and physical infrastructure designStrong problem solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsMust possess excellent time management skills and the drive to work unsupervisedExperience with deploying On-Prem infrastructureWhat is ideal?Experience in building processes for deploying to a Kubernetes based environment using Gitlab and HelmUnderstanding of access management and security groups (i.e. IAM, S3 bucket, SSH, VPN, etc.)Ability to write and use unit and functional testingExperience using Jira and ConfluenceIntelligence Community Experience preferredWhat you can expect from usRecognizing great achievements do not go unnoticed by Bcore through service anniversaries, spot awards, and employee referral bonusesYou'll join a growing organization of passionate, top-shelf, IT engineering professionals with extensive experience in actively developing the technology revolution in the Intelligence communityThe expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $148,000-$171,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
