Field Service Technician

Job TitleYou must have a valid driver's license in good standing and an excellent driving record. This is a safety-sensitive position. You are required to pass a pre-screen drug test that includes testing for marijuana, and will be subjected to random testing.Hiring Range: $35.00 - $40.00 p/hour. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.What You'll Be Doing:New installation, retrofit, and repair pressure, temperature, differential transmitters, and general process instrumentation pressure, and process control instrumentation at customers' facilities or in the Caltrol shop.Calibration of field instruments such as level, pressure, and temperature transmitters.Troubleshoot process control equipment, including motor-operated valves, field measurement instruments, and final control devices.Perform MOV diagnostics.Take field measurements needed for the design of the retrofit of the MOV mounting hardware.Design mounting brackets and couplings to connect valves and MOV's.Interact with customers to promote service contracts, conduct training, and assist with problem resolution.Assist with shop assembly needs as time permits.What We're Looking For:5+ years of experience as a field service technician, instrumentation technician, and/or demonstration of general electrical/mechanical competency.Strong knowledge in the calibration of field instruments such as level, pressure, and temperature transmitters is required!A working knowledge of process controls and instrumentation.Strong electrical knowledge, including the ability to read and understand wiring diagrams – single phase, three phase, AC, and DC, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical problems.Strong knowledge of valve actuators, including Electric actuators, Pneumatic actuators, and Hydraulic actuators.Driver's license in good standing and the ability to maintain an excellent driving record.What We Offer:A work culture that's not just inclusive, but downright celebratory of diversityEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and Profit-Sharing opportunitiesGenerous paid time-off + 12 paid holidays per yearMedical, Dental, Vision – all effective 1st day of the month after date of hireFree and unlimited virtual care access to a dedicated physician through AstroDocHSA (with employer contribution) and FSAComprehensive supplementary benefitsWellness Benefits401(k) with employer match - because your future is just as important as your presentEmployee Assistance ProgramsCompany-paid life insurance and buy-up optionsCompany paid Short-Term Disability insurancePet Discount ProgramStudent loan repayment matchTuition reimbursementProfessional development opportunities because we believe in investing in greatnessCompany truck providedExpected Hours:A typical work week will be M-F, 8 to 10 hours plus travel time. Overtime, including extended shifts and weekends, will typically equal 5-10 hours per week. Start and finish times may be irregular.Work Environment:Will regularly visit customer sites where environments will vary. Sites will be loud, may be warm in summer or cold in winter, and will include both indoor and outdoor sites.Physical Demands:Will require work in confined spaces and on elevated platforms. Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 lbs. Will work in extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures.Travel:Will regularly visit customer sites within our territory (AZ, CA, HI, NV) 75% of the time.
